The most read Christian book after the Bible
Written by John Bunyan while in prison in the 1600s, it tells the story of a man named Christian who journeys to the Celestial City. While traveling, he meets many who try to stop and trick him.
The second part of the book is from the perspective of Christian's wife and four sons who make the same journey and run into familiar places, different obstacles, and tricky enemies.
The story, characters, and challenges are unforgettable. The great Baptist preacher, Charles Spurgeon, read the book every year.
The stories help the reader understand spiritual truths found in the Bible.
As always, I recommend reading a print copy of The Pilgrim's Progress for note-taking, but you can read the book for free online or download a Kindle version.
Also, video lectures are available on the Ligonier Ministries website.
